LAGO at the CERIS FCT/INFRA Annual Event 2023
On December 14–15, LAGO attended the CERIS—Fighting Crime and Terrorism/Resilient Infrastructure—annual event 2023 in Brussels, Belgium.
DG HOME organised the event, bringing together security research practitioners, policymakers, researchers, civil society, and industry for two days of meaningful discussions.
The first day focused on the challenges of accessing quality, domain-specific research data. The Project Coordinator, Ernesto La Mattina from Engineering Group, along with April Murray-Cantwell from CENTRIC, represented the LAGO project and actively engaged in the discussions about improving access to high-quality, domain-specific research data. They shared their experiences and ideas on improving data access, contributing significantly to the day’s theme.
On the second day, the discussions shifted to the inclusion of new stakeholders from NGOs and CSOs in security research. The conversation focused on encouraging diversity and collaboration across Europe. LAGO's participation highlighted our commitment to these goals.
The event was a valuable opportunity for sharing ideas and learning from others in the field. LAGO’s involvement is a step towards better addressing current and future security challenges. We're excited about what’s next and how these discussions will influence our work.
