LAGO Research Presented at ICSC2024 in Valencia

On September 17, 2024, the LAGO project was represented at the 4th IEEE International Cybersecurity Conference (ICSC2024) in Valencia, Spain, by our colleague Sven Schlarb from partner AIT.

He presented our latest research paper, "Building a Data Space for the Public Security Domain using Smart Contracts," a collaborative  effort between three LAGO partners: AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, Engineering Group, and INOV.

This research explores how smart contracts can enhance public security by facilitating secure data sharing among stakeholders such as law enforcement agencies, research institutions, and industry partners. It addresses the challenges and costs associated with implementing blockchain-backed processes in a dedicated data space.

The conference itself highlighted the pressing need for intelligent systems and data analytics in cybersecurity, especially given the increasing data flow from connected systems, social networks, and mobile communications. The insights shared at ICSC2024 underlined the importance of real-time data processing and analytics in developing effective cybersecurity solutions, aligning well with the focus of our research.

We extend our gratitude to the conference organisers for fostering enriching discussions and to all participants for their valuable contributions.
