Final LAGO Workshop in Palermo

The Final LAGO Workshop took place in Palermo on April 3rd, 2025. Hosted by Polizia di Stato and supported by the Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME) of the European Commission, it marked the conclusion of 30 months of research, development, and collaboration on the LAGO Research Data Ecosystem (RDE).
This event brought together law enforcement agencies, researchers, policymakers, and industry partners to explore the RDE's architecture, tools, and potential to enhance security research. Presentations covered key areas such as sustainability, legal frameworks, and cross-project collaboration, demonstrating the project's achievements and impact.
The day featured a "Datasets management for the EU security research and innovation value chain" panel discussion, along with technical demonstrations of LAGO tools, including those supporting dataset co-creation, data quality, risk assessment, and governance. The demos showcased the RDE’s applicability in real-world contexts and reinforced the project's relevance for EU-wide research.
The workshop also welcomed contributions from sister projects, including STARLIGHT, FALCON, MULTIRATE, and TESSERA, highlighting the importance of cross-project collaboration and shared standards.
Many thanks to our hosts and participants.
